What ferro molybdenum grade do you supply?
Typically 60–70% molybdenum, with carbon, sulphur, phosphorus, copper and silicon limits set to your specification. Full analysis is provided on every lot.
What is ferro molybdenum used for?
It raises creep resistance and strength at elevated temperature, which is why it is specified for boiler, pressure vessel and turbine steels. In stainless it improves pitting and crevice corrosion resistance — the roughly 2% molybdenum in 316 is what distinguishes it from 304.
How is it supplied and packed?
Usually as sized briquettes or lump in sealed drums or bags, since it is a high-value material where accurate weight and secure packing matter. Packing is confirmed at order stage.
How much do I need to add?
Alloy steels typically call for 0.2% to 1% molybdenum, so additions are small relative to bulk alloys. Because the material is expensive, recovery and accurate weighing are worth more attention here than with bulk ferro alloys.
Do you supply small quantities?
Noble alloys are routinely traded in smaller lots than bulk ferro alloys. Send us your tonnage and specification and we will quote accordingly.
